How many non-toxic fragrances do you own in your collection?

It has been over two years now since I started incorporating non-toxic beauty products into my routine (and ever-growing collection.) Skincare, check. My entire skincare collection is all clean products which I’m really proud of.

Perfume? Not entirely.

I’m not going to lie, I have a handful of designer perfumes that I’m head over heels in love with but they are not entirely clean. So, I was determined to find fragrances that I could fall in love with that are healthier for me and the environment.

I came across a bunch of clean fragrances last year but wasn’t too impressed with most of them. They either smelled too earthy, spicy or just…kinda nasty, to be honest, haha.

It wasn’t until I tried a fragrance from Clean Beauty Collective when I was like, “Woah, woah, woah, wait, hold on a minute.” Impressed is an understatement because their scents are absolutely extraordinary. Not only that, but so is the brand itself and the efforts they are making toward our planet and communities.

In this blog post, I really want to give you some background of Clean Beauty Collective as a whole, a brand spotlight if you will, but also highlight my top three favorite scents of theirs if you’re looking to make the non-toxic switch too.

What is Clean Beauty Collective?

Clean Beauty Collective is a fragrance brand that prioritizes safe ingredients, both natural and synthetic. They’ve been around since 2003 and have been slaying ever since. Not only do they put an emphasis on safe and transparent ingredients, but they also take great consideration for our planet.

Their packaging is eco-conscious; let me give you some details: their cellophane is derived from corn and is compostable, their paper is from responsibly sourced wood, the box and bottle are recyclable, the ink on the label is non-toxic and water-based, their wood cap is sustainably sourced from Spain, their scents are infused with sustainable ingredients, and their fragrance base is made from corn-derived alcohol and infused with aloe.

Not only are their products sustainable and eco-conscious, but they are also cruelty-free, vegan, phthalate-free, paraben-free, recyclable, and non-toxic. They also have a no-to list, which is essentially a list of ingredients they say no to. Hello, transparency.

Another way they take care of our planet is the work they do with Earth Day Network by sponsoring their Protect Our Species program. In March 2020, I had the honor to work alongside this incredible initiative with a focus on protecting our endangered bees. This year, their efforts are toward protecting our butterflies. I’ll talk a little bit more about these two things because they relate to two of my favorite fragrances on this list.

It goes without saying, I am a die-hard fan of Clean Beauty Collective and think so highly of their brand for all the reasons I mentioned above. If you’ve been on the fence or if this is the first time you’re reading about them, this is your sign.

Alright, on to my top three favorite non-toxic fragrances from Clean Beauty Collective. (They are in no particular order either, I love them all equally so, so much.)

Radiant Nectar

Radiant Nectar is a floral musk with notes of pear nectar, ambrette seeds, white cedarwood, and liquid musk. To me, this scent is crisp, bright, yet really light and refreshing. It’s a tad sweet which reminds me of florals and sunshine in the summer. Like, I really imagine myself in a cute flowy dress, radiating ~summer vibes~ after I spray this. It’s not overpowering at all, as I know some musks really can be. This is definitely one of my most worn daytime fragrances.

Clean Beauty Collective made this fragrance in honor of protecting our bees and spreading awareness of the critical state they are in. Whenever I wear this fragrance, it takes me back to when I made a bee garden filled with flowers that bees are attracted to. I love that this fragrance can transport me to such a special moment; a cause I participated in (and continue to) that I hold so dearly in my heart. If you buy this fragrance, I challenge you to make a flower garden for the bees too, and help be a part of this initiative!

Rain

Rain is such an incredible scent and it’s unisex! It’s a watery musk with notes of bergamot, cucumber, waterlily, dewy white flowers, and patchouli. To me, this is a really clean, fresh smell that leans toward a more masculine scent (which I, hands down, love!)

I’m someone who is obsessed with masculine scents and have often sprayed my boyfriend’s cologne on myself because the smell was so alluring and captivating. And hot, let’s be real. So if you’re anything like me and want this vibe for yourself, but more toned down, I recommend going with Rain. (They also have this scent in a candle and reed diffuser and it’s amazing! I’ve already gone through two candles and one diffuser already.)

Lush Fleur

Lush Fleur is a beautiful fresh, watery, floral fragrance. In case you haven’t caught on yet, I’m in love with fresh smelling perfumes. This one has top notes of bergamot, mandarin, and raspberry with remaining notes of vanilla, gardenia, jasmine, damask rose, moss, amber, and musk. It’s a really light and refreshing scent as well. What I love most about this fragrance is how flirty, feminine, and romantic it feels when I wear it. I feel like it really brings out my girly side without being too over the top or overpowering.

Lush Fleur was created to honor and protect our endangered butterflies. Clean Beauty Collective is doing so by partnering with Earth Day Network by sponsoring their Protect Our Species Program - exactly what they did for protecting our endangered bees with their Radiant Nectar fragrance, too. Wearing this fragrance reminds me that I’m supporting an important cause to protect our crucial pollinators. After all, butterfly populations have decreased 33% in the last 20 years due to climate change and habitat loss and it’s vital to protect these beautiful creatures and our beautiful planet.
